Have Your Say
We’re excited to be working in partnership with one of Australasia’s leading brands to deliver sustainable farming and better livelihoods for cocoa growers.
Cadbury has announced its commitment to achieving Fairtrade Certification for all Cadbury Dairy Milk® chocolate in Australia and New Zealand by Easter 2010. This is truly groundbreaking news for the Fairtrade movement – it’s their top selling chocolate bar and so fantastic news for cocoa growers in Ghana.

Bravo!!! I'm so excited!
I have not bought Cadbury's chocolate for a long time and for 2 years now I have sought alternatives to give my kids at Easter...... thanks for making the change......and for changing the lives of the farmers, giving them a better future for their families. Congratulations Cadbury!!!

This is great news that Cadbury is moving towards the fairtrade certification. Congratulations to all those who have been part of this great move! It is good to know that there is more recognition of the rights of the farmers and that they will be assured of a better livelihood. I hope that the day will come when all other producers of chocolate products will make the same commitment

To Cadbury's Australia, NZ and Japan, Congratulations for going fairtrade. It is great when what we say and do follows through in positive action that has long lasting impacts on those that are poor and marginalised. As a consumer of your product I am very grateful for your ethical stance. Well done,
Fiona G. Victoria, Australia
What a great achievement. This will certainly help the growers but it should help many more people through the promotion of the idea of Fairtrade in such a main stream brand. Congratulations to all involved.

This is great news indeed for the farmers in Ghana who deserve a fair go and should have a better chance in life now that they may be able to afford a few more luxuries such as better housing and better education for their children.

I was so excited to see the announcement on television this morning that Cadbury are now going to be selling fair-trade products. Congratulations to Fairtrade and to Cadbury for their commitment to sell ethically sound products. Fantastic!!

How wonderful that Cadbury have agreed to make and sell Dairy Milk Chocolate as a Fairtrade item from Easter 2010. I hope this includes Easter Items, such as solid, filled and hollow eggs. In the past few years I have not been purchasing much Cadbury Chocolate as it is not Fairtrade. Once the Fairly Traded Cadbury chocolate comes into the shops I will certainly be supporting this move by purchasing this type of chocolate. I hope that Cadbury will make other varieties of chocolate fair trade as well.

Congratulations on making Cadbury chocolate a fair trade. Knowing that you have been able to put a stop to human trafficking in developing countries is an inspiration to people all over the world. As a person who loves chocolate I think it great to be able to eat Cadbury which is not made by slave labour.
As a young human rights supporter I believe that we are all equal and every person, no matter what race or sex should have the same rights as anyone. The world is filled with bad things like slave labour and what you have done for the world is important for people to realise the hard labour and mistreatment that those people have to live with every day. You have done an inspirational thing and you should continue doing what you have begun. I live Australia but I think it’s important to know how far what you have done has travelled around the world.
