Job Opportunities

Business Development Officer - Australia

The Business Development Officer – Australia is responsible for building relationships with Australian companies and organisations trading Fairtrade Certified products in order to enhance their Fairtrade business activities and grow the market for Fairtrade Certified products. The role must also contribute to the strategic direction of the Australia and New Zealand Business Development team.

This position reports to the Operations Manager - Australia and works closely with all staff in Australia and New Zealand; travel within Australia, New Zealand and internationally is required in the role.

Volunteering

We work on numerous projects and there are usually always opportunities for volunteers to assist in the various activities. From time to time we may also have paid opportunities, although these are rare.

Some general points about volunteering:

  • We ask for a minimum commitment of one day per week for two months for general volunteering. Some positions require more days.

  • We refund travel expenses.

  • The type of work available is rarely suitable for volunteers to carry out from home.

  • We regret that we are unable to assist non-NZ / non-Australian residents who are planning to volunteer during a short stay in New Zealand / Australia with     visa applications, finding accommodation etc.
