In April, participants had an iinspiring time at the inaugural Fair Trade Faith Conference in Queanbeyan. The panel of experts in fair trade and social justice included speakers from Oxfam and STOP THE TRAFFIK Australia , Molly Hariss Olsen from Fair Trade Australia, guest speaker Dr Jonathan Cornford author and founder of Manna Gum and futurist Dr Keith Sutor who regularly appears on Sunrise. Ever wondered about where your coffee comes from? Or how your daily caffeine habits affect some of the world's poorest people? To raise awareness on the impacts of our purchasing decisions and the importance of choosing Fairtrade products, the UoM Fairtrade Steering Committee is hosting a screening of the award winning documentary 'Dukale's Dream', starring Hugh Jackman. Come along and follow Hugh's journey to see how something as simple as your morning coffee can make such powerful impacts to others, and the inspirational tale of one young man trying to lift his family out of poverty.
